The Tabley Hill Chapel is an intimate wedding venue located just outside Knutsford town centre, licenced with Cheshire East Council for civil wedding ceremonies.
About the Tabley Hill Chapel
The Tabley Hill Chapel was built in 1901 and is situated in the centre of the Knutsford cemetery. It’s a small but beautiful venue. Your ceremony takes place in an octagonal hall with a high vaulted ceiling, tastefully decorated and renovated in 2021.
Off the hall is an accessible toilet with baby change and a small kitchenette. The hall accommodates up to 60 guests. It is now available for use as a civil wedding venue and other private functions.

Simple Hire Fee
Our hire fee is simple - £450 for a weekday (Mon-Thur) or £600 for a weekend (Fri-Sun) service. This gives you exclusive use of the chapel for your special day. A deposit of 50% is required on booking with the balance due 6 weeks before the event.
Your wedding your way
We're a flexible venue so if you have specific elements you'd like to incorporate into your big day we're happy to discuss these with you. We can also arrange recorded music or glass of fizz after the ceremony - or you can arrange these yourself. Let's discuss!
Space for photos
There are a number of locations on site to capture snapshots of your special day, whether that is featuring the rustic stone walls of the chapel, the flower lined driveway, the verdant rhododendron border or beneath the trees overlooking the adjacent fields.

We can provisionally hold a date whilst arrangements are being made, such as a visit to the venue. We can also check the availability of the Cheshire East Council registrars.
There are two costs you need to be aware of for your wedding service at the Tabley Hill Chapel.
The first is our venue hire fee (£450 Mon-Thur, £600 Fri-Sun), payable directly to us.
There is also a fee payable to Cheshire East Council for conducting the marriage ceremony. Prices start from £710 (Mon-Fri) and £875 (Sat/Sun) with higher fees due for ceremonies on bank holidays, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. The Tabley Hill Chapel comfortably seats 50 guests for a wedding service, with a maximum of 60 if you use the pews as well.
We welcome the use of natural confetti (i.e. real flower petals) both inside and outside the chapel.
The chapel has 50 cushioned chairs (of which 12 have arms for ease of standing), and two pews which each seat 5.
The kitchenette has a sink/microwave/fridge for basic catering.
We can provide champagne glasses and buckets for a celebratory fizz after the service.
The accessible toilet includes a baby changing space.
We can arrange for a limited number of tables with cloths, and a PA system.

Yes, you would be welcome to hold your reception after the ceremony.
However, the Tabley Hill Chapel is a small venue with just the one hall.
Yes. The Tabley Hill Chapel is available for a variety of uses including community hire, private hire and funeral services.
Nearly all churches are surrounded by a graveyard and the Tabley Hill Chapel is no different. It was originally built to accompany the cemetery, but is now used for a variety of uses as a community building. Being an active cemetery means we maintain the grounds to a high standard.
